Summit to offer free, outdoor ‘Twilight’ screenings

First two pics will screen in major cities leading up to 'Eclipse'

Summit Entertainment set a dozen free outdoor screenings of the first two “Twilight” pics Saturday, as part of a celebration of the lunar eclipse on that evening.

The third film, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” will open four days later. Screenings will take place in Atlanta; Dallas; Denver; Miami; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City; St. Louis; San Diego; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.

Studio also announced that Moviefone will live-stream events from Philadelphia and San Diego and include interviews with cast, fan reactions and peeks at “Eclipse.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. local time and attendance will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Eclipse” is expected to dominate moviegoing over the Fourth of July weekend. The first two “Twilight” films grossed more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
