Summit confirms release date for ‘Breaking Dawn’

Next film in 'Twilight' franchise due out Nov. 2011

Summit has set a date for its final “Twilight” installment to be released Nov. 18, 2011, but the studio is still tight lipped on whether “Breaking Dawn” will be one or two films.

Regardless of Summit’s decision to split the final offering, insiders said at least one film will be released on that date.

Studio also announced last week that helmer Bill Condon will direct the pic.

“Breaking Dawn” reps the last adaptation in author Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling four-book series about vampire Edward and his human love interest Bella.

The vampire saga’s third offering “Eclipse,” will hit theaters this summer on June 30. Summit has yet to confirm whether or not “Breaking Dawn” will get the 3D treatment.
