Distributor takes Norwegian crime comedy
Strand is planning to release the criminal comedy, starring Stellan Skarsgaard, in the fourth quarter.
Pic centers on an ex-convict just released from prison who wants to start over and is seeking a more normal and quiet life. That becomes more difficult than expected as he has to cope with his gang of criminals, his son, a few women and the man who testified against him.
“A Somewhat Gentle Man” has already been sold to more than 20 countries.
The film is produced by Norwegian production company Paradox with support from the Norwegian Film Institute and Nordisk Film and TV Fond.
Strand has recently released Andre Techine’s “The Girl on the Train,” Catherine Breillat’s “Bluebeard” and Lou Ye’s “Spring Fever.”
