Sebastian Stan (“Gossip Girl”) is heading for a haunting, opposite “Twilight” thesp Ashley Greene in “The Apparition” for Joel Silver’s Dark Castle genre label.
Story, inspired by true events, centers on a young couple haunted by a supernatural presence unleashed during a college experiment. Stan’s portraying a post grad trying to figure out his life.
Start date for production is Feb. 1 in Berlin, followed by Los Angeles in March. Silver’s producing with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman while Steve Richards, Sue Baden Powell and Daniel Alter are exec producing.
Todd Lincoln is writing and will direct “Apparition,” originally developed by Lincoln, Silver Pictures/Dark Castle exec Heineman and Alter. It was also one of the first projects that Warner-based Dark Castle has picked up since former Rogue Pictures prexy Rona was tapped prexy of Silver Pictures and co-prexy of the genre label in late 2008.
Stan’s credits include the upcoming “Hot Tub Time Marchine” and “Black Swan.”
