Spacey tracks ‘Casino Jack’

Star details the Facebook connection

Kevin Spacey introduced ATO Pictures’ “Casino Jack” Monday night at the Chinese with an interesting factoid: “I was cast in this film on Facebook.” Apparently, the late helmer George Hickenlooper made a status update saying Spacey would make a good Jack Abramoff. So Spacey’s manager “poked” him, and the actor found himself at the center of an AFI Fest gala.

At the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel after-party, the “Casino” star was joined by thesps from the film, like Jon Lovitz, and those not from the film, like John Stamos.

Spacey recalled meeting the convicted lobbyist for six hours in prison. “Then I started doing a lot of research, trying to reconcile the person I met with the person that was being portrayed in the media, who was — I think, if I’m not mistaken — the devil incarnate.”
