Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has picked up all U.S. distribution rights to the neo-Western thriller “Red Hill,” which premiered at the 2010 Berlin Film Festival.
Film, which stars Ryan Kwanten (HBO’s “True Blood”), marks the feature helming debut of Patrick Hughes.
Penned by Hughes, story centers on a young police officer whose first day on a new job comes amid a prison break.
Steve Bisley and Tom E. Lewis also star in the pic, which was produced by Al Clark and Hughes.
No date has been set for the release of the film, which was shot in Australia.
