Screen Media lifts ‘Lifted’

Indie to see March release

Screen Media Films has picked up North American rights to “Lifted,” penned and directed by Lexi Alexander.

Gotham-based Screen Media aims to drum up support from spirituality-minded auds with pre-release screenings held in February at churches and spiritual centers around the U.S., prior to a March theatrical bow.

Pic follows an Alabama boy who enters a singing competish in an attempt to help his mother after his father ships off to military duty in Afghanistan. Dash Mihok, Nicki Aycox and Uriah Shelton are among the cast.

Deborah Del Prete produces “Lifted” under her new label Coronet.

Recent Screen Media releases include “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” and “City of Your Final Destination.”
