Newly formed Route One Films has nabbed rights to Damien Chazelle’s original thriller screenplay “The Claim.”
The storyline revolves around a single father with a criminal background who must uncover the whereabouts of his kidnapped daughter, even as he fights off the claims of a couple who says the girl is their child.
Route One partners are Jay Stern, Russell Levine and Chip Diggins.
Megan Hughes is creative exec at Route One.
Chazelle’s debut film “Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench,” which he wrote and directed, opens in theaters Nov. 5 in a limited run via Variance Films.
“Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench” premiered last year at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Chazelle is repped by Gersh and Exile Entertainment.
