‘Round Up’ to open Jerusalem festival

by Alissa Simon

The 27th Jerusalem Film Festival will launch July 8 with an open-air screening in the Sultan’s Pool amphitheater underneath the Old City walls of French writer-helmer Rosa Bosch’s period drama “The Round Up,” which centers on the Vichy regime’s mass imprisonment and disposal of 13,000 Parisian Jews in the summer of 1942.

Unspooling through July 17, the fest features 160 features, shorts and documentaries from 36 countries. It’s the go-to spot for distributors (and fest programmers) of Jewish-interest material from all over the world.
