Film to be released in 3D

Relativity Media has acquired Melisa Wallack’s script “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White” and plans to develop the project with a modernized spin on the fairy tale.

Relativity plans to release “Snow White” in 3D. Bernie Goldmann, Brett Ratner and Ryan Kavanaugh are producing, with Relativity’s Tucker Tooley exec producing.

“Talent and directors of the highest level have already responded to the new, edgier concept, and to Melisa’s script,” Goldmann said. “While retaining the elements of the beloved Brothers Grimm tale, this is certainly not your mother’s Snow White.”

Wallack directed 2007 indie comedy “Meet Bill” from a script she co-wrote with Goldmann.

Relativity’s financing much of the Universal slate. Its recent films include “Dear John,” “The Wolfman,” “It’s Complicated,” “Couples Retreat,” “Get Him to the Greek,” “MacGruber” and “Robin Hood.” Upcoming films include “Fighter,” “Grown Ups,” “Despicable Me,” “Charlie St. Cloud,” “Salt” and “The Social Network.”
