Thursday’s preem of indie drama “The Yellow Handkerchief” has been a long time coming for producer Arthur Cohn.
Cohn addressed a crowded aud, including stars William Hurt, Maria Bello, Kristen Stewart and Eddie Redmayne, at the Pacific Design Center bow during a lengthy but heartfelt introduction to the Samuel Goldwyn film.
“In a minute I will introduce the four actors, and you can greet them and applaud them with the assumption that they are great in the film,” Cohn joked.
The intimate feel carried over to the after-party, where Hurt could hardly make his way past the front door. He credited scripter Erin Dignam “as the unsung hero of this movie,” saying he was a “shoo-in” after reading just the first three pages.
