Universal to unspool pic next year

Comic-Con was only happy to receive the “love letter” that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost created for the fanboy fest in the form of the alien comedy “Paul” that Universal Pictures will unspool next year.

Parts of the film takes place at Comic-Con, but the show had to be recreated in New Mexico.

“We tried to film here at Comic-Con but the San Diego fire marshall said no fuckin’ way, so we had to recreate it in Albuquerque,” Frost said.

Those in the audience couldn’t have embraced the film any more than they did, giving it a loud positive reaction.

Sigourney Weaver sent back some of that love, thanking those in the hall for going to see “Avatar.” Thesp was in the same room last year to promote the scifi epic.

When asked if being a celebrity makes it difficult to roam the exhibit floor, Seth Rogen (who voices the alien Paul) said, “Since I lost a little weight I look like JJ Abrams and people here fuckin’ love JJ Abrams.”

“I went on the floor and no one gave a shit,” said Bill Hader.
