Production shingle will offer bridge fund
Parallel Media has hired senior Paradigm agent and former studio exec Tim O’Hair as head of production.O’Hair will be overseeing current and future film production, as well as sourcing other film finance opportunities for the company. Founded in 2006, the company is part of a lfinancial industrial group headed by Olga Mirimskaya, with offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Parallel plans to continue to both self and co-finance pictures, and will be offering a bridge fund to producers. It anticipates producing two to four pictures per year. At Paradigm, O’Hair worked on independent film packaging, international co-productions, structured finance and film sales. Prior to joining the agency, he was a producer of IFC’s “How to Rob a Bank” and Phase 4’s “Brotherhood” and a production exec at Universal where he oversaw “8 Mile,” “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Bring It On,” “The Family Man” and “U-571.” O’Hair began his career in New York as a financial and sales exec at Orion. Parallel’s Media films include “High School,” starring Adrien Brody, Sean Marquette, Matt Bush, Colin Hanks, Adhir Kalyan and Michael Chiklis. The comedy premiered at Sundance this year. The banner’s also producing “Shoe Addicts Anonymous” with Halle Berry attached to star, and “Night of the Demons,” starring Edward Furlong, Shannon Elizabeth and Monica Keena. “Demons” will premiere at Screamfest L.A. on Saturday.
