Mark Urman’s Paladin has acquired distribution rights to Steven Peros’ “Footprints,” a mystery set entirely on Hollywood Boulevard, and will release the pic in March in L.A. and New York.
“Footprints” stars Sybil Temtchine as a woman who awakens from a deep sleep to find herself lying among the legendary handprints and footprints at the Chinese Theater. With no memory of who she is or how she got there, she spends a day trying to reconstruct her life.
Peros and Urman worked together on 2002 feature “The Cat’s Meow.” which Peros wrote and adapted from his stage play while Urman was president of Lionsgate Releasing.
“Under Mark’s watch, ‘The Cat’s Meow’ had the highest per screen average of any film the weekend it opened,” Peros noted.”Footprints” also stars H.M. Wynant and Pippa Scott. Peros wrote, directed and produced the film with his brother, John Peros.
Paladin recently announced that it will be releasing “A Love Affair of Sorts,” which Urman exec produced. It has also set a February opening for Tom Shadyac’s docu “I Am.”
