Williams to adapt own play for Perkins, Inzana
Keith Perkins and Dominic Inzana have optioned the film rights to Samuel Brett Williams’ Off Broadway play “The Revival,” and they’ll produce an adaptation through their newly launched banner Naked Faith Entertainment.
“Revival,” about unconventional redemption, centers around a chance meeting between a young drifter and a disaffected preacher that threatens to disrupt a small Southern town.
Williams is set to pen the adapted script. His play, produced by Project Y Theater, recently concluded its run in Gotham. Williams’ other stage credits include “The Woodpecker,” “Fraternity” and “Revelation.”
Perkins said “Revival” epitomizes the types of films Naked Faith, based in Los Angeles, wants to produce.
“Our name is based on the idea that every script begins with a naked page. In the end, you must have faith that it will work,” Inzana said.
Previously, Perkins and Inzana produced the short film “Going Down,” which Inzana wrote and directed.Separately, Perkins is a development exec at LLeju Prods., whose credits include “AfterLife,” “Unthinkable” and “The Chameleon.” Previously, he worked as a creative exec for Lee Daniels.
