Oz’s Hoyts absorbs AMC

Exhib extends brand nationwide

SYDNEY — Private equity group Pacific Equity Partners will extend its Hoyts brand Down Under with the purchase of Australian Multiplex Cinemas.

The move will give Hoyts a presence in all mainland states and lift its number of screens from 406 screen to 450.

Hoyts CEO Delfin Fernandez did not give a purchase price. The deal is expected to be finalized next month.
