Ono, Kalman, Muniz donate for Tribeca awards

Artworks handed out to filmmakers of competition winners

Yoko Ono, Maira Kalman and Vik Muniz are among the visual artists donating works to be given to the filmmakers who score awards at the 2010 Tribeca Film Fest.

Pool of artworks — comprising paintings, photos, sculptures and prints — comes from a list of artists that includes Stephen Posen, Valerie Hegarty, Stephen Hannock, Sheila Berger and Clifford Ross. Works will be on view April 21-28 at a Chanel boutique in Soho before they’re handed out at the Tribeca awards ceremony April 29.

Given as part of the fest’s Artists Awards program, the artworks will go to the 11 filmmakers whose pics are selected by the Tribeca jury as winners in their categories.

Fest runs April 21-May 2.
