Ojai film fest fetes filmmakers

Cinematopher Michael Chapman, actor Craig T. Nelson among honorees

The Ojai Film Fest presented lifetime achievement awards to cinematographer Michael Chapman and thesp Craig T. Nelson Nov. 6 at its 11th annual ceremony.

Nelson received his award from surprise presenter and “Parenthood” co-star Erika Christensen. Chapman is best known for his work on Martin Scorsese’s “Raging Bull” and “Taxi Driver.”

Enemies of the People,” directed by Rob Lemkin and Thet Sambath, won for docu feature. Narrative feature prize went to “Pope Joan,” by Soenke Wortmann and the festival theme award went to John Keith Wasson for “Surviving Hitler: A Love Story.”

Panavision P.R. director Suzanne Lezotte, presented the award for student film to Gregg Helvey for “Kavi,” plus a $60,000 camera rental grant from Panavision.
