NYFF goes to Harvard

Ivy league and animal heads at the opening party

Tavern on the Green isn’t around anymore to host the opening night party of the New York Film Festival, so the 2010 kickoff shindig Friday was shifted to the Harvard Club in honor of the opening night film, Cambridge-centric Facebook-origins tale “The Social Network.”

There were Harvard-themed three floors available to partygoers, but you’d never know it, with the majority of the crowd, including most the film’s stars, packed into the overheated ground level.

On any floor, though, there were plenty of hunting trophies, including one particularly large elephant head. As one slightly alarmed partygoer put it: “Lotta dead animals in here.”
