Co-Production Forum attracts projects from hot producers

Scandi biz drawn to intimate Haugesund | Norwegian Film Commission lures productions | Nordic helmers in focus

The Norwegian west coast is the right place to shoot international productions — at least according to the Norwegian Film Commission.

To push this message home, international producers will be treated to a helicopter tour, including a champagne reception on a mountain top, from the commission.

The tour is just one of the events set for this year’s Nordic Co-Production Forum in Haugesund. Eighteen projects are seeking co-production partners, including three from Canada: “The Colony,” produced by Paul Barkin for Alcina Pictures; “Mad Ship,” produced by Patricia Fogla for Enigmatico Films; and “League of Monster Slayers,” produced by Jennifer Jonas for New Real Films.

Other pics seeking coin include German producer Oliver Damian (“Father of My Children”) and his “Mr. Lu’s Blues”; “Das Leben ist Nichts fur Feiglinge,” produced by Mickael Eckelt for Riva Filmproduktion; “Deadweight,” from producers Benny Drechsel and Karsten Stoter for Rohfilm; and “Nosferas- Die Erben dert Nacht,” produced by Phillipp Kreuzer and Dorothe Beinemeier for Bavaria Pictures and Egoli Tossel Film.

Swedish producer Sandra Harms has an adaptation of the novel “Caipirinha With Death,” to be produced by Sonet Film, while Mirijam Johansson and Peter Kropenin are seeking coin for “The Catwalk,” to be produced for Hob. Finnish d.p.-turned-producer Petri Rossi is taking “Silence” to the Forum, to be produced for CineWorks.
