Mason Lee cast after extensive search
Newcomer Mason Lee is rounding out the cast of Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures’ “The Hangover: Part II,” joining Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms.
“The Hangover” sequel’s been shooting in Los Angeles, and it is currently lensing in Thailand, with Todd Phillips directing again and producing through his Green Hat Films banner with Daniel Goldberg.
After an extensive search, Lee was selected to play a major role as the future brother-in-law to Helms’ Stu character. Lee’s also a drama major at NYU.
Other recent additions to the cast have included Paul Giamatti and Liam Neeson. Studio has set a May 26 release date.
Phillips, Scot Armstrong and Craig Mazin penned the script.
Phillips famously wound up earning more than $35 million on “The Hangover” after he gave back his salary and gross position to become an equity investment partner in the pic along with Warner Bros. and Legendary. “The Hangover” is the top-grossing R-rated comedy ever at $277 million domestic and has grossed another $190 million internationally.
