Sheila Nevins, John Sloss and Liz Rosenthal are among the film industry folks lined up for the IFP Filmmaker Conference.
Event, organized by indie film advocacy nonprofit IFP, takes place during the org’s annual Independent Film Week. HBO Documentary Films prexy Nevins, Cinetic Media founder Sloss and cross-media specialist Rosenthal will each take part in public discussions about his or her area of expertise.
Also on the conference’s slate is a series of case studies focusing on the year’s breakout indies including “Cyrus,” “Winter’s Bone,” “Restrepo” and “Tiny Furniture,” as well as public debates between holders of opposing viewpoints on the issues confronting the indie scene.
Conference also will have an online component, including a new, year-round blog called “Ask an Expert.”
The Filmmaker Conference, subtitled The Future of Film, runs Sept. 19-23.
