Natalie Portman praises microfinance organization

Celebs talk up money matters at Finca fete

Natalie Portman, Finca’s ambassador of hope, was recognized for her work with the microfinance organization at a Capitale Bowery fete on Thursday.

Outside the Gotham eatery, the actress spoke highly of the women in the org: “By giving them the possibility to help themselves, they have so much pride in the businesses that they start.”

Ali Wentworth played host for the night. “Unfortunately, George (Stephanopoulos) is not here tonight. He’s making mac and cheese and putting the kids to bed,” the comic said of her husband. “He will be compensated.” – — Peggy Truong
