Lorber Films snags ‘Armadillo’

Company picks up U.S. rights to Janus Metz' drama

Lorber Films has picked up U.S. rights to “Armadillo,” Janus Metz’ documentary about Danish soldiers in Afghanistan, to release theatrically early next year.

Film won the Critics’ Week grand prize at Cannes in May. In Denmark, the movie prompted a government probe into one of the skirmishes seen in the doc, which takes its name from the base where the soldiers are stationed.

Distribution deal was negotiated by Kino Lorber’s Richard Lorber and TrustNordisk’s Susan Wendt.

“Armadillo” joins a Lorber Films slate that also includes “Le quattro volte” and “Tuesday, After Christmas.”
