Lincoln Center taps Kuo

Industry vet named exec director

Film industry vet Rose Kuo has been appointed the new exec director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

She’ll replace Mara Manus, who steps down after about two years in the post and will remain with the org through July in a transitional role.

Kuo, founder of consulting firm Festworks and co-director of the Santa Fe Film Fest, has been a.d. of AFI Fest and also has consulted for fests in Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Mill Valley.

She also has worked on the filmmaking side, including as director and producer of the doc “California AIDS Ride ’94” and as exec producer of 2001 feature “The Fluffer.”

First up for Kuo is overseeing the 2011 opening of the Film Society’s new Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
