Cancer survivors include Etheridge, Newton-John

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation has found an innovative way to raise money for breast cancer research.

The org will host a panel sesh with cancer survivors, including Melissa Etheridge and Olivia Newton-John, and a screening of docu “1 A Minute” at Los Angeles’ Woodbury U. on Wednesday that will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. (tape delayed on the West Coast) to more than 500 movie theaters around the country. The docu, helmed by Namrata Singh Gujral and narrated by Kelly McGillis, chronicles Gujral’s experience with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Among the exhibs set to carry the event are Gotham’s Chelsea Cinema and Union Square Stadium 14 and L.A.’s AMC Century City 15 and L.A. Live Regal Cinemas 14.
