Twentieth Century Fox is moving up Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer “Knight and Day” by two days to June 23, meaning the pic will launch on a Wednesday.
Studio insiders said reaction to early screenings of the film has been so strong that Fox wants to get a jump on the weekend, as well as further build word-of-mouth.
The only other wide release of the June 25-27 frame is Sony’s Adam Sandler-Kevin James-Chris Rock comedy “Grown Ups,” which unpsools June 25.
“Knight and Day’s” switch-a-roo gives it a full week of play before Summit releases “Eclipse,” the next installment in the “Twilight” franchise. “Eclipse” bows June 30, a Wednesday.
