Josh Brolin to direct, produce ‘Pitz’ at Warner Bros.

Forbes to pen adaptation of Dominique Cieri play

Josh Brolin will produce, direct and star in an adaptation of the Dominique Cieri play “Pitz and Joe” for Warner Bros.

Maya Forbes, whose credits include “Monsters vs. Aliens” and “The Rocker,” will pen the adaptation of the family drama.

“Pitz and Joe” follows the misfortunes of a young man with brain damage from an accident and his sister, who tries to coax him into believing again that life is worth living.

Cieri wrote the play in 1979 after her older brother broke his neck in an accident.

Brolin wrote and directed the short film “X” as his directorial debut. He will be seen next in “True Grit” and is currently shooting “Men in Black 3.”

Jesse Ehrman is overseeing “Pitz and Joe” for the studio.

Brolin is repped at CAA, while Forbes is repped by ICM.
