Thesp joins Cameron Diaz in Columbia comedy
Jason Segel is set to enroll in the Cameron Diaz starrer “Bad Teacher” for Columbia Pictures.
The actor will co-star in the raunchy comedy, which was was penned by “The Office” scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Jake Kasdan is directing.
Story centers on a foulmouthed, gold-digging middle-school teacher who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend, competes with a colleague for the affections of the school’s model teacher. Segel will play a gym teacher.
Studio still needs to cast the romantic lead before lensing begins next month in Los Angeles.
Mosaic Media’s Jimmy Miller is producing “Bad Teacher.”
Segel, whose credits include “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” recently wrapped the Fox comedy “Gulliver’s Travels.”
He is repped by WME and managed by Abrams Entertainment.
