New producing deal for Palermo at Fox

John Palermo and Hugh Jackman are disbanding their 20th Century Fox-based Seed Prods., with Palermo setting up a solo banner at the studio.

Palermo Prods.’ deal with Fox runs to 2012. Jackman wants to get out of the producing biz and focus on performing.

Palermo and Jackman planted Seed four years ago, producing “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Deception” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

Jackman will remain a producer on a handful of Seed projects still in the pipeline, including the “Wolverine” sequel, “Avon Man,” biopic “Barnum” and “Carousel,” based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. All are Fox projects.

Projects to be produced under the Palermo Prods. banner include Fox 2000’s bigscreen adaptation of Catherine Fisher’s “Incarceron,” which Adam Cooper and Bill Collage have been brought on to adapt, Ryan Gosling starrer “Drive,” which is being independently financed, and a redo of “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.”
