‘Jackass’ enters 3D fray

Pic screens at Gotham's Museum of Modern Art

Paramount offered New Yorkers a special screening of “Jackass 3D” at the Museum of Modern Art on Monday. That venue plus a Q&A, moderated by MoMA’s chief film curator Raj Roy, gave the docu an aura of respectability not often associated with the franchise.

The after-party at Le Bain attracted pic’s stars Johnny Knoxville and the gap-toothed Ehren McGhehey; producer-helmer Jeff Tremaine; producer Spike Jonze and d.p. Dimitry Elyashkevich.

Knoxville told the assembled media that they shot so much footage that there was enough for “Jackass 3.5.” He and McGhehey then compared war wounds.

Guests included Adam Horovitz and Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Brett Ratner and Drea de Matteo.
