IFC picks up ‘Wake’

Chad Feehan thriller debuted at SXSW

IFC Films has picked up North American rights to Chad Feehan’s “Wake,” a thriller that bowed as part of the 2010 SXSW fest, for on-demand release.

IFC will distribute the pic to on-demand viewers under its IFC Midnight banner.

Toplined by Josh Stewart and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, “Wake” follows a couple’s unnerving night at a roadside motel. Director Feehan also wrote the movie, and produced with Amanda Micallef and Lea-Beth Shapiro.

“Wake” deal was negotiated by IFC’s Lizzie Nastro with Ben Weiss of Paradigm Motion Picture Finance Group.

Feehan will next direct “Beyond the Pale,” which he is adapting from William Gay’s Southern Gothic-influenced novel “Twilight.”
