'Captain Kidd' is among first films from Indomitable
Veteran media exec Dominic Ianno is launching Indomitable Entertainment as a production-financing company.
This comes five months after attorney Michael Barnes and Ianno joined forces to establish Greentrestle Film Bridge Fund to provide short-term film funding. Indomitable’s business plan is to exec produce features and participate as a principal for financing and distribution for film slates or single pictures.
Initial projects include participating as an exec producer on family adventure “The Return of Captain Kidd,” with brothers Kip and Kern Konwiser producing and directing; high school comedy “The Secret Lives of Dorks”; recently announced indie drama “Soul Surfer,” starring Carrie Underwood; and action-thriller “Mortis Rex” from producer Jim Jacks and the Gigapix/Recess Films Kids Slate.
“Indomitable will serve as a bridge between the financing markets of New York City and the content markets of Los Angeles and New York,” Ianno said. “We generally are very selective and can help a project that has a package in various stages but needs financing or distribution. The projects we select have a singular point of marketing or financing leverage, and we help our partners find, define and exploit that leverage.”
