Nina Tassler to deliver keynote speech

“The Hurt Locker,” “The Little Traitor,” “Precious” and “The Messenger” will compete for this year’s feature Humanitas Prize.

“Locker’s” Mark Boal, “Traitor’s” Lynn Roth, “Precious” ‘ Geoffrey Fletcher and “The Messenger” duo of Alessandro Camon and Oren Moverman are up for the $10,000 prize. CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler will deliver the luncheon’s keynote speech at the 36th edition Sept. 16 at the Montage Beverly Hills hotel.

Hourlong TV finalists are J. Roberts and Vince Gilligan for AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” Ryan Murphy for Fox’s “Glee,” Robert King and Michelle King for CBS’ “The Good Wife,” Peter Nowalk for ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Warren Leight for HBO’s “In Treatment” and Warren Hutcherson for TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age.”

On the half-hour side, the noms are Myra J. for TBS’ “Meet the Browns,” Alex Reid for ABC’s “The Middle,” Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd for ABC’s “Modern Family,” Liz Brixius, Linda Wallem and Evan Dunsky for Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” and Kevin Curran for Fox’s “The Simpsons.” Awards honor work that explores the human condition.
