Horror film to IFC

'Human Centipede' goes out later this year

IFC has acquired offbeat horror pic “The Human Centipede (First Sequence),” scripted and helmed by Tom Six and starring Deiter Laser as the doctor who sews his victims together.

Film preemed at Fantastic Fest in 2009 and snagged prizes for best horror film and actor (Laser). It’s just the latest unconventional horror title the indie distrib has added to its library in recent months: IFC unspooled Norwegian comedy-horror pic “Dead Snow” and Lars von Trier’s surreal “Antichrist” in 2009.

Auds will determine whether or not “Centipede” has legs later this year, when IFC will release the movie in theaters and on VOD.
