Honors for Robert Duvall at Palm Springs fest

'Get Low' star recognized for lifetime achievement

Duvall hits desert

Robert Duvall has been tapped to receive the 22nd annual Palm Springs Film Festival’s career achievement award.

Currently starring in “Get Low,” Duvall made his bigscreen debut in 1962’s “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Since then he has appeared in dozens of films including “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now.”

Duvall will be honored at the fest’s awards gala Jan. 8.

Bahamas set kudo

The seventh annual Bahamas Film Festival will fete Alan Arkin with the fest’s career achievement award.

Arkin has starred in such films as “Edward Scissorhands,” “The In Laws” and “Little Miss Sunshine.”

The fest starts today in Nassau and runs to Dec. 5. Arkin will receive his award from “Little Miss Sunshine” co-star Abigail Breslin in a tribute ceremony Dec. 4.
