Taylor Hackford delighted the audience at Wednesday’s premiere of “Love Ranch,” telling the Arclight crowd, “I always make films about working-class people, and a brothel is a workplace.”
The same is true for a movie set, where Hackford, who directed wife Helen Mirren, said the duo kept their personal life separate from filming.
“We never ate lunch together!” he said. “But it was fabulous.”
Guests, including Benjamin Bratt and Morgan Freeman, had only to cross the street for the film’s after party at Green Door. Sergio Peris-Mencheta, the pic’s hunky love interest, glanced around the bar before comparing the evening to his home turf. “This is so different from Spain!” he said.
