French distributor nabs rights to drama

French distributor Haut en Court has acquired British director Paul Andrew Williams’ “Cherry Tree Lane” for France and French-speaking Europe from sales company Salt.

Pic, currently in post, is a provocative drama about an average couple who find their home invaded by a gang intent on killing their son in revenge for him testifying in court against one of their members.

“Cherry Tree Lane” is produced by Ken Marshall, Williams’ partner in Steel Mill Pictures and producer of his previous films, and will be released in the U.K. by Metrodome later in the year.

The film is financed by the U.K. Film Council and Molinare.
