Grumbar, Dawson upped at Icon U.K.

Stewart Till becomes group chairman

LONDON — Hugo Grumbar and Ian Dawson have been upped to joint managing directors at Icon U.K. with immediate effect.

Previously, Grumbar served as prexy of distribution while Dawson was general manager of home entertainment.

In the new roles, Dawson will oversee all aspects of the U.K. biz, while Grumbar will oversee the international side of the biz.

Former CEO Stewart Till will take on a new role as chairman for the Icon U.K. Group.

The restructure comes after Icon U.K., owned by Access Industries, joined forces with the Weinstein Co. last month to launch a film finance-production fund that could reach up to $100 million in worth over its initial two years.

New projects under the fund, which will focus on commercially viable pics in the $5 million to $20 million range, are expected to be unveiled within the next few months.
