'Green Hornet' director reunites with pop singer on film
French helmer Michel Gondry, who got his start as a musicvid director, will reteam with pop singer Bjork on an IMAX 3D musical, according to a recent interview with the Playlist.
“We have a very ambitious project, a sort of scientific musical,” Gondry said. “It’s a movie, but maybe more for museums. Like a 40 minute IMAX project in 3D.”
The 46-year old director has been at SXSW all week, serving as a panelist alongside Quentin Tarantino and David Gordon Green.
Gondry, who is currently in post-production on Sony’s superhero pic, “The Green Hornet,” has directed a handful of Bjork’s eye-catching vids, including “Hyperballad,” “Joga,” and “Army of Me.”
It’s unknown whether or not Bjork will be acting and/or singing in the untitled 3D project. The Icelandic songstress last appeared in Lars von Trier’s “Dancer in the Dark.”
“The Green Hornet,” starring Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Christoph Waltz, hits theaters Dec. 17.
