First-time writers honored

Ford, Scearce will be among those feted by multicultural org

Tom Ford and David Scearce will be among the honorees at the Multicultural Motion Picture Assn.’s 17th annual Oscar Week Scholarship luncheon.

The first-time scribes penned “A Single Man,” for which Colin Firth received an Oscar nom for best actor.

Scearce and Ford co-wrote the screenplay, while Ford, best known for his design work with Gucci, wore helming and producing hats as well. Luncheon will be held at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel on March 5.
