Femme fund offers grants

Women in Film taking applications for cash, craft awards

The Women in Film Foundation is accepting applications for its 2010 grants. The grants are awarded by the foundation’s Film Finishing Fund to women working on innovative projects.

For the second year, Netflix is sponsoring the fund, which doles out awards ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, as well as in-kind grants for services such as online editing, sound mixing, color correction and closed captioning.

Former award recipients include Cynthia Wade and Vanessa Roth, director and producer, respectively, of the 2008 Oscar-winning short “Freeheld.” Applications are due April 30.
