Emma Thompson is in talks to star in Sony’s “Men in Black 3.”
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are returning to the roles of Agent Jay and Agent Kay, with Josh Brolin joining the cast.
In the latest version, Smith’s Agent Jay goes back to the ’60s to fight aliens teaming up with a younger Agent Kay played by Brolin. Jermaine Clement is in talks to play the villain.
Thompson would play Agent Oh, a MIB agent from the ’60s monitoring a prison break.
Pic is being directed by Barry Sonnenfeld; David Koepp penned the script. Laurie Macdonald and Walter Parkes are producing.
No date has been set for a release.
The previous two installments were successes at the box office, bringing in more than $400 million domestically.
Thompson can currently be seen as the title character in “Nanny McPhee Returns.”
