Dunn, White sign on for ‘Transformers 3’

Thesps to reprise roles as parents for Paramount sequel

The parentals are back for the third outing of Paramount’s “Transformers” franchise.

Thesps Kevin Dunn and Julie White have closed their deals to return in the roles of Ron Witwicky and Judy Witwicky, respectively, and reunite with leads Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.

Michael Bay is in pre-production with the threequel, and will direct from a script by Ehren Kruger. Working title is “Transformers 3.”

Pic, produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, is set to open July 1, 2011. Steven Spielberg is exec producer.

Dunn is currently shooting Michael Mann and David Milch’s HBO pilot “Luck.” He’ll next be in theaters Nov. 12 with 20th Century Fox’s “Unstoppable,” directed by Tony Scott and starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. Dunn will also be seen in Gavin O’Connors’ mixed martial arts film “Warrior,” from Lionsgate.
