DreamWorks snags Hlavin’s pitch

Studio wins bidding war for heist pic

DreamWorks Studios has won a bidding war for John Hlavin’s pitch for an internationally set heist pic.

Hlavin’s a busy writer these days. He’s set to adapt comicbook “The Alibi” for Summit Entertainment, based on his pitch, and “Panic” at Mandate. Other credits include “Gunslinger”–which made the Hollywood blacklist last year–and the next “Underworld” installment.

Other studios vying for Hlavin’s pitch included Warner Bros., New Regency and Paramount.

There’s no producers yet attached to the heist pic.

Hlavin is repped by UTA and Benderspink.
