Open casting call will fill role in 'Welcome'
DreamWorks has launched an open casting call to fill the third lead role in Chris Pine-Elizabeth Banks drama “Welcome to People.”
Pic marks the directorial debut of Alex Kurtzman, who penned the script with writing/producing partner Roberto Orci and Jody Lambert. He’s set to start shooting in January. “Welcome to People” tells the story of a young businessman (Pine) who returns home after his estranged father’s sudden death only to discover a surprising family secret — he’s got an older sister (Banks) he never knew about and a young nephew. An open casting call for the role of the 12-year-old boy will be held Saturday in Los Angeles. DreamWorks is looking for a boy who is “athletic, independent and confident.” Film is intended to be rated PG-13.
