Studio grabs Adler script for producer McNulty

DreamWorks has decided to go with “The Escort,” snapping up Justin Adler’s road-trip comedy spec script and setting it up with producer Tom McNulty.

Story centers on an irresponsible airline steward who is forced to escort a 14-year-old to Boston when the plane is grounded for engine trouble.

DreamWorks topped of-fers from Universal and Original Film.

Adler is a veteran TV writer with credits on “Better Off Ted” and “Samantha Who?”

McNulty was the longtime president of Shawn Levy’s Fox-based 21 Laps. His credits include the upcoming “Date Night” and “The Rocker.”
