Doc exposes the coverup

Bar-Lev keeps sens of humor over 'Tillman' rating

At Thursday’s reception for the Weinstein Co.’s “The Tillman Story,” Amir Bar-Lev kept his sense of humor about the R rating slapped on his film.

“We were joking around that the label should be ‘R for brief profanity while consumed with grief,’ ” said the director, whose pic reveals the military’s coverup of Pat Tillman’s death.

Attendees to the screening included narrator Josh Brolin, James Brolin and Emile Hirsch. Regarding how he rehearsed for his narration job, Brolin replied, “I don’t. I showed up … and I wanted not to get in the way.”

Two of Tillman’s platoon mates featured in the film, Russ Baer and Bryan O’Neal, stood apart from the Hollywood crowd at the Pacific Design Center. “I’m not celebrating a movie,” said O’Neal. “I’m celebrating Pat.” –
