Disney shuffles publicity team

Quenqua, Fontaine to coordinate U.S. strategy for films

Walt Disney Studios has realigned its domestic PR team, bumping up Joe Quenqua and Julie Fontaine to coordinate the domestic media strategy for all films, managing campaigns with New York and Los Angeles-based broadcast, print and online publicists.

The two will report to Michelle Sewell, senior VP of global publicity, who oversees the Mouse House’s domestic and international PR efforts for all studio pics, including live action and toons, docus released through DisneyNature and DreamWorks pics.

Quenqua will oversee the New York office for the Walt Disney Studios and Disney Theatrical Group. He most recently served as VP of worldwide publicity and communications for Disney Theatrical Group.

Based on the West Coast, Fontaine will serve as VP of domestic publicity, and oversee domestic publicity, film festival and awards campaigns.

Fontaine joined Disney’s L.A. operations in 2009, and worked on such campaigns as “The Queen” and “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” at Miramax.

Quenqua and Fontaine will work closely with current global project VPs Ryan Stankevich, who handles Disney’s live action films, and Olivier Mouroux (Disney/Pixar Animation).

Quenqua and Fontaine’s new assignments come as Stephanie Kluft joins Disney as global VP to oversee DreamWorks’ PR campaigns, working with Chip Sullivan and Marvin Levy on DreamWorks Studios titles.
