Mrsic, Zaree nab thesping kudos

Germany’s candidate for the foreign-language Oscar has taken top honors at the 37th Ghent Film Festival.

Feo Aladag’s “When We Leave” was awarded the grand prize Wednesday by a jury led by veteran German scribe Wolfgang Kohlhaase.

Pic concerns a Turkish woman’s attempt to make a new life in Berlin after fleeing an abusive husband in Istanbul.

Local distributor ABC will release the pic in March.

Kudos for music went to Kim Hong-jip, who wrote the score for Im Sangsoo’s Cannes player “The Housemaid.”

Maryam Zaree was named best actress for Burhan Qurbani’s “Shahada,” exploring the immigrant experience in Berlin.

Dragomir Mrsic was named best actor for Swedish thriller “Easy Money” by Daniel Espinosa.

The fest wraps Saturday with the World Soundtrack Awards.
